Freelance artworking and graphic design for print

My name is Gary Carmichael and I have been in print since 1978, so, as you can imagine, I have seen a lot of changes!

I have spent the last twenty years working with Macs (Apple computers) and graphics applications such as Quark Xpress and Adobe Phostoshop. These days I tend to prefer working with applications from Adobe’s Design Studio CS3 including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and lately I have turned my hand to some website work with Dreamweaver and Flash.

I have been working as a freelancer for the last four years now and I am actively looking for new projects to freelance on or to collaborate with. I have my own small home-based studio, so I can either work on-site or off-site, anywhere in Kent or central London, whichever is most suitable.

I hope that you will take the time to view some of my examples below, you will see that my work covers a range of disciplines from branding, leaflets and flyers and magazine design, which is my real passion.

I have been producing business to business and business to consumer titles since the late 1980’s. Since working on my own I have continued to work with publishers producing monthly consumer titles, supplements, marketing and promotional material and trade magazines.

I am relatively new to website creation and usually don’t offer this as a service, but it is something that I am becoming more familiar with and I have an understanding of HTML and CSS. All my websites are code compliant.
